Family Reunification

“We know from long experience that if they (ex-offenders) can’t find work, or a home, or help they are much more likely to commit crime and return to prison….America is the land of second chance, and when the gates of prison open, the path ahead should lead to a better life”- President George W. Bush, 2004 State of the Union Address.

The reality is that 90% of ex-offenders in our communities will reenter society. Ex-offenders, are people just like you and I, that need some hope and guidance when they are released. DRC supports research that suggests if  the previously incarcerated are not appropriately and adequately reached out to and assisted, the likelihood of re-offending is almost guaranteed.
